Unidentified man beats husband to death in front of wife; police seizes weapons

A man died on the spot after being beaten by an unidentified miscreant in the Bhadramistri area of West Tripura district late on Monday night. The victim’s wife Rita Debbarma, a witness to the incident, said that a man who had his face covered reached their home late at night and started hitting her husband. But she could not identify the miscreant since his face was covered. The deceased has been identified as Ajit Debbarma, who worked as security personnel at NIT Agartala. A large police force led by the Additional Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, along with the Sub-Divisional Police Officer reached the spot after getting information about the incident, and an investigation has been initiated.
