Andhra style recipe of Dondakaya Chutney.
Ingredients:
¼ kg Dondakaya / Tindora
4 to 6 green chilies
Small piece of Tamarind
4 tb spn of Oil
Salt to taste
Pinch of Turmeric
Seasoning:
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
1 sprig Curry Leaves
¼ tsp Mustard
¼ tsp Cumin Seeds
¼ Urad Dal
Procedure Recipe:
1. Soak dondakaya in water for 10 mins. Rinse them. Chop them to circles.
2. Heat pan with 2 tbspn of oil. Add chopped green chilies and chopped dondakaya. Fry this for 10 -15 mins till they wilt off.
3. Allow to cool.
4. In a mixer jar add tamarind then add fried dhondakaya , green chilies , salt to taste and turmeric and grind it. Do not grind as fine paste make it as a coarse.
5. Add little oil to a pan and add urad dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves. When they splutter add the grinded mixture into it and mix it well and switch of the stove.
